Success and Value

Success

Everyone I know wants to succeed. But sometimes the goal of success is to gain value:

— Achieve prestige and status in the world.
— Prove our worth to ourselves or others.
— Obtain all the material possessions desired.

Value

But no matter what you have heard or felt or experienced, every person is already a valuable, unique creation.

It’s normal to work hard to achieve a goal and define that as being successful.

But achievements don’t add to our inherent value.

And lack of achievement doesn’t diminish our inherent value.

A great definition of success is to be of value by reminding others of their value and worth. Reinforcing that they matter just because they are in the world. Regardless of their level of prestige and status in the world. And no matter what their material possessions.

What are other ways to be of value?

  1. Churches always stress… to be valuable, we must first be a servant to all— as Christ was. Another great post to make us think:)

Thank you for reading and commenting, Jane. I’m thankful Jesus is the example to follow, and that I do my best because I love Him.
