Just Call Me Rebel

Most people who know me would laugh if my name was used in the same sentence as the word rebel.

But I am a rebel.

A big rebel.

Okay…

Maybe not a big rebel.

But when I thought about writing blogs for November, I realized I didn’t want to do what alot of people do – write about gratitude and thanksgiving.

Don’t get me wrong – I actually love posts and memes and pictures of autumn and all the wonderful sentiments people express in November.

I do my best to nurture a life of gratitude every day of the year. And, when I’m cranky, one of the best ways to get out of a bad mood is to make a list of all the things for which I’m grateful.

But I said to God, “I don’t want to do what everyone else is doing. I want to be unique. I want to stand out. So I don’t want to write about gratitude at all in November. And I don’t want to post gorgeous pictures of the leaves changing, even though autumn is my favorite season.”

That’s being a rebel, isn’t it?

So if I’m a rebel, God must have created me to be that way. After all:

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

When I read those words, I know God created me and made me to do certain things.

And I feel overwhelmed with thankfulness gratitude

Guess I’m not as much of a rebel as I thought.

Rebel or not – what are you grateful for?

  1. Ephesians quote was perfect! God has planned it all for us; we just need to get out of our own way and work the plan. Red jacket pic is beautiful!

  2. I’m thankful for second and third chances. I need all the chances God is willing to give me.

    • Thanks for that comment, Tim. I need all the chances God gives me as well. Appreciate your support.

  3. Friends!

  4. I absolutely love this picture of you in the red jacket! You are gorgeous!

    • Thanks. It was the only pic I had that showed I could be a rebel. ha ha Was a headshot session at BRMCWC, and the wind blew out of nowhere. Photog caught it. Completely out of the blue – but we thought it was a good pic, so I kept it.
