Happy Birthday, Grand Canyon

After years of efforts by people who wanted to use the land for business purposes, on February 26, 1919, President Woodrow Wilson signed the law that designated the Grand Canyon as a national park.

I’m thankful to everyone who worked to protect this area of natural beauty.

And I’m grateful for the members of the National Park Service, and all of the supporters who work to preserve our national parks.

Happy 104th birthday to the Grand Canyon. I’m glad we can still celebrate that precious place.

  1. I love the history you give us of special sites in America. I would definitely like to visit there one day.

  2. Thanks, Joni. Awesome place to visit. I also love being in the North Carolina mountains.
