Some moments are golden.
This year, a writers conference I’ve attended many times, celebrated its 50th year. Its golden anniversary.
But I must tell you that every year I’ve been blessed to be there has been golden. It’s a slice of heaven for a writer.
Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference
At the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference:
— The classes in the craft of writing, and those about the publishing industry, are full of helpful, inspiring information.
— The faculty create a nurturing environment where every attendee is valued and cheered on their writing journey.
— The hundreds of writers attending form priceless and lifelong bonds of support that assure us we aren’t alone on the writing journey.
— The worship, devotions, and keynote speeches blanket everyone with the reminder that we are there for the Master, and He is there for us.
— The conference center staff provide superior service and support, and the campus is nestled in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains.
Honoring the Gold
On Genre Night, attendees can dress in a costume that reflects writing in some way. Perhaps the genre they write, or a character from one of their stories, or just some aspect of writing.
This year, I dressed to honor the Golden Anniversary of the conference.
I also dressed to honor the gold standard to which Christian writers aspire — because we write for the Master.
And to thank God because He takes our words and spins them into His gold to touch our readers’ spirits.
The 2026 golden conference moments are over, but my prayer for every Christian writer is to join 500+ Christian writers at the conference in the coming years. Every year is gold!
