Born To Bloom

Orchids Are Born To Be Beautiful

The panorama of blooms surrounded me in a palette of purples and blues, reds and corals, yellows and multi-coloreds.

The gardener recounted forty years of experience trying to grow the exquisite flowers.

He explained what to feed them and how to water them. And described the light conditions and temperature needed for the plants to flourish. Then he detailed how he pruned them and cut off the unhealthy parts, hoping the wound would heal and make them stronger in time.

The gardener stated it can take up to a year and a half of nurturing and just the right conditions for an orchid to blossom.

And for all of the orchid grower’s efforts to nurture and care for the plants, the most important element was God’s part when He designed the orchids as the beautiful creations they were meant to be.

People Are Created To Be Masterpieces

Like flowers, people come in a variety of skin tones and shapes. And each of us grows at our own pace, and have a special beauty all our own.

I’m grateful God knows how to nurture and provide the right environment to bloom.

Life events sometimes stop me short, and cut me off from what I think is the physical, emotional, and spiritual nutrition I need. And it may seem as if there is no path to flourish. It’s difficult, but I have to choose to trust that the Master Gardener is removing what keeps me from becoming what He created me to be.

It can take much longer than I think, or want it to take, to heal and flourish.

I must do my part as well by accepting the help others give, working through the pain, and believing that God always supplies the elements only He can provide. And does what only He can do.

With God’s help, we can each become the masterpiece that the Master Gardener designed us to be.

  1. What a beautiful blog of hope and the idea that we can turn out beautiful in the end when all is said and done. Another one of God’s masterpieces… just like the orchid.

And you are right when you say, “It can take much longer than I think, or want it to take, to heal and flourish.

    But… one day…
