Beauty Brings Joy

As one of my recurring social media posts, I share a weekly picture of flowers and plants and landscapes that I’ve taken over the years.

Like all of my posts, I brainstorm and try to share something encouraging or helpful.

I knew the pictures I had taken were beautiful and soothing to me, so I started brainstorming a witty phrase to tag them. And I’m grateful God gave me this phrase:

Made you a PBnJ…Pause…Breathe…nJoy.©

Recently, someone commented about how pretty that particular flower picture was, and I responded with:

” Not sure what kind of flower, but it caught my eye. Guess it’s like everything in life: flowers, trees, and even people — we don’t have to know their names to see their beauty.”

I’m always amazed, and thankful, when God lets me write words that also encourage and help me.

I don’t have to be able to “name” something, or understand why it is the way it is.

All I have to do is pause.

Pause long enough to find its beauty.

And with that beauty, comes joy.

What encourages you and helps you see the beauty in others?

  1. The Bible, prayer, time with other Christians. I also try to see others as Jesus may see them. I know I can’t do that fully, but it helps.

    • Thanks, Tim. We all need help in finding the beauty in others and when life doesn’t seem so beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Anyone that points me toward God becomes beautiful to me.
