In 2015, musician Nils Frahm established a fun holiday to honor the piano. So, World Piano Day is always the 88th day of the year, signifying the 88 keys on the piano keyboard.
On that day, and every day actually, piano lovers everywhere can take a break from the world and its troubles, and be happy that the piano was created by Bartolomeo Cristofori in the late 1600โs.
Iโve also heard of holidays such as Bubble Gum Day, Pi Day, and Talk Like A Pirate Day. There are a whole host of fun or wacky holidays.
So whether you celebrate Science Fiction Day, Buffet Day, or Penguin Awareness Day, I hope you find a multitude of days to have some fun.
And on the 88th day of every year, take some time to celebrate and enjoy some piano music!

I took piano lessons as a kid. That’s when I learned to play Clair de lune. I fell in love with the piece. I no longer play, but it is still of one my favorite classical pieces. Thank for telling us about World Piano Day.
Thanks for reading and sharing, Jacki. I’m so thankful there are different kinds of music for everyone to have a favorite. ๐
I mainly celebrate the major holidays, but it is fun to hear of these other days that can be celebrated. Thanks for sharing. The Penguin awareness day made me laugh:)
Thanks, Jane. I think there’s probably a holiday for almost anything. Sometimes it’s just time to celebrate whatever day it is!
Beautiful piano, Joni! Are you a musician? Thanks for the fun blog!
Thank you for reading and commenting, Kim. I play, but not very experienced. I’m grateful you enjoyed my post.
Interesting to hear about the wacky holidays. Thanks for sharing about them.
Thanks for reading and sharing, Phyllis. Hope you find a fun holiday to celebrate! Or just celebrate the day the Lord has made. ๐
I love piano music. Thanks for the post.
Thanks, Tim. I appreciate your continued support to read and comment on my posts. Hope you get to listen to some great music today and every day!
I was trained on the classics but love various genres of piano music. Iโve had a piano most of my life and find it therapeutic to play. One piece of instrumental music created a story in my head that may be book 2 if I finish book 1.
Thanks for reading and sharing, Daphne. Continued prayers for your writing. You WILL finish book 1, and book 2, and lots after that. ๐ Keep writing, my friend.
Your piano looks beautiful in your sunroom.
Thanks. That’s the old picture. No longer in its own room, but it’s still beautiful to me. ๐ Thanks for reading and commenting.
