The Two Sides of Reflection

What I See

Reflection is the act of looking inward.

— What I am internally.

— Why I behave the way I do.

— Communicating with God’s spirit in me.

And asking God to make me who He wants me to be.

What Others See

Reflection is how I present myself to the world.

— My internal displayed externally.

— Responses and actions that show who I am.

— Manifesting the condition of my communication with God’s spirit in me.

And broadcasting if I am whose I say I am.

  1. I feel like there is a constant fight going on in my head as I take a look inward to make sure I’m on God’s page instead of my own. It really wears me out sometimes. But, I have noted that the ones who cannot reflect inwardly are very damaged and hurt those around them with their behavior.

So, I’ll take the fight and use God’s Word as my mirror to reflect back who I should be.

Thank you, Jane, for sharing. And for the reminder that I can’t change others. All I can do is pray for them and ask God to help me do what He wants.

  2. Thank you, Joni. Christ in me is my help.
