Let There Be Light

A few years ago, the news reported that scientists were surprised to find the universe is expanding — not shrinking as they had once thought.

Admittedly, I don’t know as much about science as some, but the report made complete sense to me.

After all, God said, “Let there be light.”

He didn’t say, “Okay, light, stop now.”

What does that mean?

I started thinking about what that means to me.

— When God says something, it happens. Exactly the way He designed it to occur. Even if some, or all, of the world may believe differently.

— God made the light race at 670,616,629 miles per hour. And yet, He planned my life to unfold at a pace I can handle so I don’t fall behind in what He created me to do.

— God spoke clearly then, and He speaks clearly now. Since I’m not perfect at hearing what He says, it’s comforting to know I can ask again. And wait until I have peace that I’ve heard Him correctly.

— I don’t think the light thought about what God said and presented reasons why it couldn’t do it God’s way. I do sometimes. Okay, maybe more than sometimes. I’m thankful God is patient until I remember that God’s way turns out to be the best outcome.

— And like the light, I need to keep growing and doing what God tells me to do until, and unless, He gives me a different message.
