Hi – Just wanted to let you know I’ve been trying to get a resolution to the problem where the images I put in my blog posts are not displaying in emails on some iphones.
Based on my testing, checking with subscribers, and dealing with Apple (who has now closed the case WITHOUT a resolution), these are the facts:
It is all level of iphones (SE, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13). Some display the images, some don’t. THE BANNER OF MY SITE DISPLAYS – it is JUST the images in the blog that don’t display. For example, my iphone email doesn’t display the purple box with white writing and red arrow image above.
It is both 14x and 15x releases of iphone software that do not display the images. This is a recent issue with me (iphone8) – and occurred when the 15.1 update was installed. But my subscribers have the range of iphones and release levels.
I have my iphone set to display images, and it doesn’t. So it isn’t a setting on the phone. Apple customer service and I tested over at least 8 hours. And 5 days of diagnostics from my iphone to Apple engineering did not show anything easily evident enough for them to keep pursuing the case.
It is all different kinds of email accounts: yahoo, gmail, my website email account, etc. Some display the images, some don’t.
It is across different providers (Mailchimp and MailerLite) are the only ones I have verified. I don’t see images sent through either of those providers.
It is ONLY the iphone. The images display in email on my PC (Microsoft), on Macs, on tablets, and on iPads.
Disclaimer: I don’t have an Android and I don’t know anyone who does, so I don’t know if the problem is occurring on that device.
Why is this important?
Most people read emails on their mobile devices at some point. And on their larger devices as well, if they have them.
When people scroll through social media or emails, what catches their eye to stop and read?

And if our goal is to have people read our blogs, and images catch their attention, then it directly impacts our efforts.
Right now, there is no solution, and as I said, Apple has closed the case.
If you have a website…
I recommend you ask your subscribers if they are seeing the images in your blog. If not, ask them their type of iphone and what software release it is on.
Then put in a support ticket with Apple and tell them yours is NOT the only case.
Perhaps if enough people report the issue, Apple will investigate it and find a resolution.
Until then, if you don’t see the images in my blog emails, you can view them from your iphone if you click to my website (or if you view them on another device).
If you know the solution, please let me know and I’ll happily spread the word.
Thanks!
